PregnancyOur culture is constantly telling women they need to have babies before 30, and that after 35 it’s all downhill. Well I’m here to tell you that’s not the case!

One thing people don’t realize is that how fertile you are can change, improve, or decline at any age. It’s entirely possible that your fertility at 35 might be better than what it was at 25!

How is this possible you ask? By understanding what affects your fertility, and taking steps to improve your health, you can improve your hormonal balance which in turn will improve your fertility!

This is where tracking your cycles comes in, because menstrual cycle charts are a great tool to get a picture of what your fertility really looks like. What can you tell by looking at your chart? If you might not have enough progesterone to sustain a pregnancy, if you have estrogen dominance, if you have Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, if you’re not ovulating, if your thyroid is under active, and more! By changing your diet and lifestyle you can take control of these things and improve your chances of conception.

Of course, some people will need fertility treatments, and that’s okay – everyone’s path is different. And I’m not saying age doesn’t matter, because it does, but it’s not the only factor. It’s important to know that a lot of women can avoid invasive, expensive, and exhausting fertility treatments though holistic health care methods.

It’s also important to know that if you are within the first year of stopping hormonal contraception it’s very likely you will have fertility challenges, but you can monitor your return to fertility and know when your body is ready to get pregnant again (this is why I recommend stopping hormonal contraception at least one year before trying to get pregnant, and preferably two)!

And if that fails, science is always coming up with something new. Just this week they said that they have found a way to rejuvenate “old eggs” so that they can become viable again!

Moral of the story: nothing is set in stone and you can take charge of your fertility.

Your Eggs Aren’t As Old As You Think
